Ida Emelia Werth was the only child of Julius and Wilhelmina (Wick) Werth, born Oct. 28, 1891 in Kearney Co., NE.Her mother died in 1893 from injuries sustained in a storm. Her father married Emma (Sasse) Lohmeier in 1897 and she was raised with her step-sisters, Clara and Olga, brother, William, and sister, Erna. She married August Albers on Oct. 23, 1912 at her step-mother's home south of Minden. Ida and August moved to S.D. to farm. She became the mother of 9 children, 4 of which died at birth or in infancy. She was also the mother to Carl, Julius, Wilhelmina, Sophia and Louise. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, and step-sister, Clara Albers.
