Jaap and his parents were murdered in Auschwitz. Many Brilleslijper family members were killed by the nazi's.
Jaap's 2 sisters Janny and Lien were the only ones from the Brilleslijper family who survived the war.

Jaap was a technical man. He was always busy designing and creating something like a radio or a dollhouse for his little nieces.
He was the one who created the hiding places in 't Hooge Nest, the house they stayed from 1942 till 1944.
