Obituary for August E. Firle Jr.
August E. Firle Jr, 79 of Sandy Lake, passed away on August 2, 2019 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. August was born on September 20, 1939 in Pittsburgh to the late August Firle Sr. and Helen Firle. He was a graduate of Lakeview High School and went on to work as a Tool Forger at Channellock for 40 years.

August loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting. He was also an avid fan of antique tractors, especially John Deere. He was a wonderful man who left his family with many cherished memories.

August is survived by his beloved wife, Martha “LaRue” Firle, as well as daughter Bonnie Firle and companion Gordon Riley of Greenville, step-daughter Daphney Scott of Clarks Mills, and grandson Doug Hawks and companion Heidi Shook of Sheakleyville.

In addition to his parents August was preceded in death by his step-son, Douglas May.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of STONEBORO, 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome from 4-7 PM on Friday, August 9, 2019.

Private interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in August’s name to Black Funeral Home, PO Box 245 Stoneboro, PA 16153, to help defray funeral expenses.
