Helen R. West, 86, a resident of Sierra Vista, Ariz., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007. She was born Aug. 27, 1921, in St. Louis, Mo., to William and Amelia (Bourbon) Noonan.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Amelia and William Noonan; brother, Richard; sisters, Amelia and Edna; her first husband, Julian B. Emmons; and her second husband, Kent W. West.
She is survived by her daughter/niece, Sally Anne McElwaine (SAM); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.
Helen was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and on Sept. 1, 2007, would have celebrated 46 years of continuos sobriety.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2100 Yaqui St., in Sierra Vista.
Immediately following the services, a luncheon will be served at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions, in Helen's memory, may be made to AA c/o Sally McElwaine, 3626 Trevino Drive, Sierra Vista AZ 85650.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jensen's Sierra Vista Mortuary.
