BROOKPARK, Ohio ----Frank W. Adkins Sr. , 89, formerly of Crow, died at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 1993, in a Cleveland hospital, following a long illness.
Born June 30, 1903, at Streeter, he was the son of the late Michael Wilson and Nannie Cooper Adkins.
Mr. Adkins was a retired brick mason, a member of the Crow Baptist Church and had lived most of his life in Crow.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Meadows Adkins; a son, Frank W. Adkins Jr. on Feb. 28 !993; two daughters, Virginia Neal and Garnett Manning; a brother, Carl Adkins; three sisters, Cassie Bennett, Lillie Epperly and Amma Adkins, and a great-grandchild, Sarah Louise Adkins.
Survivors include four sons, Billie R. Adkins and his wife, Louise, of Brookpark, Preston J. Adkins and his wife, Yvonne, of Norton, Ohio, and Jim Bob Adkins and his wife, Patricia, of Madison, Ohio, and Roger Dale Adkins and his wife, Patricia of Cleveland, Ohio; four daughters, Mrs. James (Ann) Flowers of Cannonsburg, Pa., Mrs. Thomas ( Mary) Metrick of Beckley, Mrs. Al (Jean ) Fussi of Manassas, Va., and Mrs. Joseph ( Bonnie) Haley of Crow; a daughter-in-law, Irene Adkins of Daniels; 28 grandchildren; 34 great- grandchildren, and three great- great- grand-children, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Burks officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
Friends called from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
