Born to Robert and Anna Dale Hake Jan. 15, 1908. Passed away in Puyallup July 5, 2003.
She was later adopted by her grandparents, Judge John L. and Lucy Dale and reared in Edison, WA. While attending school in Edison she was a debate partner of Edward R. Murrow, graduating in 1926 as the Salutatorian of her class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, two step-children, Milton Lee & Evelyn Kidwell and her beloved husband, Fred Meier.
Survivors are two daughters Bev. Knudson of Mount Vernon, WA, Marilyn Cozad and husband Jim of Puyallup, WA. Brothers - Robert Hake, wife Evelyn of Lacey, WA and Dallas Hake & wife Jean of Yakima, WA. Son-in-law Preston Kidwell of Portland, OR. Grandchildren Konnie Garner of Bellevue, Douglas Knudson and wife Karen of Yucaipa, CA, Jim & Carol Cozad of Bellingham, Rosemary Hake, Seattle, WA Suzanne Cozad and Jerry Cozad of Puyallup and many beloved great & great-great-grandchildren.
She was a lifelong affiliate of the territorial daughters #2 and a certified Washington State Pioneer. A memorial gathering will be held at the family plot at the Edison Bow cemetery July 10th at 1:30 pm.
