R. ED LITCHFIELD CLAIMED BY DEATH
Life-Long Resident of Trigg Buried At East End

Death came to Robert Edward Litchfield Wednesday afternoon, June 14 at 6:00 pm
in the Futrell clinic where he had been a patient for the past week. He had
been in declining health for a number of years.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at theee o'clock from the
Goodwin Funeral Home with the Rev R E Melton officiating. Pollard White had
charge of the song services.

Mr Litchfield was born, reared and lived his entire life in Trigg County. He
was a prominent farmer of the Siloam community until poor health prevented his
carrying on the work on the farm. He moved with his family to cadiz some four
years ago after retiring from active life.

The son of Henry and Mary Piercy Litchfield, the deceased was born to them May
12, 1875. In 1896 he was united in marriage to Miss Gracie Alexander who
survives him. There were five children born of this union: Mrs Lona
Henderson, Mrs Homer Parrent,sr; Mrs Gordon Cameron, Mrs Willie Crisp, Mrs
Martin Calhoun, of this city; Mrs Howard Humphries and Mrs Marcellus Wright of
the county and Layton Litchfield of Cadiz. Another son Lewis Litchfield
preceded him in death February 8, 1936.
Surviving in addition to the widow and children mentioned above are 17
grandchildren, great grandchildren, one brother Luther Litchfield of Colorado,
number of half brothers and two sisters, Mrs Ollie Morris of this county and
Mrs Mattie Mitchell of Princeton.
Mr Litchfield was a firm believer in doing the things that he thought were
right, never intentionally doing anything to harm anyone. He was a good
neighbor and friend and as long as his health permitted his going upon the
streets he delighted in meeting and talking with his friends. He was a firm
believer in the teachings of the Bible and reared his large family to walk in
the same path. He had a host of close friends.
Pallbearers were: Willie Crisp, Homer Parrent sr, Gordon Cameron, Marcellus
Wright, Martin Calhoun, Howard Humphries, Charles Litchfield and Homer Parrent,
Jr.
Flowers were in charge of Mrs Homer Parent, Jr assisted by Mrs Douglas
Morris, Mrs James Rutland, Misses Minnie Louise Turner, Louise Sons, Mae
Melton,Anna Litchfield, Lucy Litchfield,Jean Carolyn LeNeave and Beatrice
Stagner.
Among those here from out of town for the funeral were: Mr and Mrs John
Litchfield and Mrs Mattie Mitchell, Princeton; Mr and Mrs Harvey Carmon, Dawson
Springs; Mfrs E W LeNeave, Mrs James LeNeave and Jean Carolyn LeNeave ,
Mayfielld; Mrs Jesse Teague and daughter Sue, Paducah; Mrs Raymond Holland,
Mayfield, Mr and Mrs Homer Parrent, Jr and Miss Lucy Litchfield, Hopkinsville
