George Dorsett, 83, Dies, Was Former Railroader
George L. Dorsett, 83, died at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday at his home at 524 South First Street, following a long illness. Mr. Dorsett had been retired for several years from Monon Railroad section service. He was born August 6, 1871 in Martin County, the son of Clement and Charity E. Jones Dorsett, He was first married to Miss Mary Ritchason and later to Miss Carrie Knott, who preceded him in death. In 1944 he was. married to Mrs. Ida Russell, who survives with a brother, James Dorsett of Orleans, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lester Sloan of Mitchell and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm. Friday at Haverly Mortuary-where friends may call. Rev. O. L. Duncan, pastor of the Mt. Horeb Bap tist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
