On November 14, 1941, Guinevere was united in marriage to Irwin Humphrey by Reverend O.D. Hodges in New Hampton, Missouri. They moved to Yakima, Washington where Irwin worked in the apple orchards.
In 1944, they were blessed with twins, a daughter, Lurene and son, Larry. A year later they were blessed with Benny.
In 1949, they decided to move back home to Missouri. Irwin worked in Bethany at the service station and raised some cattle on a farm south of Bethany. A few years later, they moved to Martinsville where they ran a gas station for 15 years. They bought a farm just north of Martinsville and raised cattle, sheep and hogs. Guinevere also worked as a Head Start teacher, did home health care and worked at the Albany Diagnostic Center.
After Irwin passed away in October 1980, she finally moved in with her mother to care for her.
Guinevere was a member of the Martinsville Christian Church. She loved her church people very much and all the young children were very precious to her.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Lori Humphrey.
Survivors include a daughter, Lurene (Dick) Greene Bethany, MO; sons, Larry (Lois) Humphrey, Martinsville, MO and Benny (Joyce) Humphrey; daughter-like friends, Nancy (Shorty) Allen and Debbie Fletchall; brother, Donald Ray Smith, Pueblo, CO ; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and 2 step grandchildren.
