Debra Lynn Shumate, 65, of Beckley, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020. She was the former owner of Slick’s License Service/Shumate’s License Service, and last worked for Ibex Global.
Born October 1, 1954 in Welch, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Cochran (1922-1980) and Margaret Rose Toth-Cochran (1927-2009). In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sons, Chad Daniel Shumate (1977-2019) and Bradley "Brad" David Shumate (1978-2012); grandson, Brock Reice Shumate (2014-2014); and sister, Peggy Lee Cochran-Daniels (1948-2016).
Debbie is survived by her son, Dustin Lloyd Shumate & companion Sarah of Beckley; grandchildren, Ava Shumate, Ian Shumate and Elliot Shumate; sisters-in-law, Karla Long & husband Scott Long, and Susan Hargett & companion Tom Jenkins; father of her children, Greg Shumate; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Debbie’s life will be 1:00 pm on Monday, July 27, 2020 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vondie L. Cook, II officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
