85 year old James Arlin Anderson of Alexandria died Monday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

He was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.

Jarrett Randolph and Dan Mollette will officiate. Burial will be in Harpeth Hills Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the service at 11:30 a.m.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Timothy Anderson and Louella Polk Whitfield and sons, Donald Wayne Anderson, and James Anderson, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Alice Anderson of Alexandria and children Debra and Ray Meadows of Charlotte, Tim and Beverly Anderson of Smyrna, and Robin and David Ligon of Fairview.

Eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a sister Martha Koudelka of Mount Juliet.

Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Mount Zion Baptist Church
