HULL, Iowa -- Ryan Meerdink, 21, of Hull passed away on Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at Sioux Center Community Hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Reformed Church in Hull, with the Rev. Verlyn Boone officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery at Hull. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are with the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Ryan James was born on Nov. 10, 1985, in Sioux Falls, S.D. He was raised in Sioux Falls until the age of eight, when he moved to Hull. He attended the Boyden-Hull Public School and Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa. He had worked for Kooima Manufacturing in Rock Valley, Iowa, and was currently employed at Interstates Electric in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Ryan was adventurous, loving, kind and fun. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gardening, especially sharing his produce. He liked the outdoors and building things, particularly out of wood. He loved his dogs and spending time with friends and family, such as cousins, Josh and Brent Mowery.

He was a member of the First Reformed Church.

Survivors include his parents, Danny Jay and Donna Louise (Mowery) Meerdink of Hull; two brothers, Shane and Nolan Meerdink, and a sister, Kara Meerdink, all at home; the love of his life, Cortney Sandbulte of Hull; his grandparents, Marvin and Betty Meerdink of Hull, Donna Mohr of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Hugh Mowery, of Citrus Heights, Calif.; two great-grandmothers, Aleda Beber of California, and Ruth Heath of Nevada; uncles and aunts, Robbie and Heidi Meerdink, Lori and Jeffrey Wilder, Deborah Mowery, Susan Mowery, Robert Mowery; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Arie and Jeanette Zevenbergen.
