Mabel Alice (Christie) Setters, 97, Ottawa, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at the Richmond Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Richmond. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa.

She was born June 12, 1910, at Madison, Okla., to James P.F. and Clara Mae (Harrison) Christie.

She grew up in rural Wellsville and Ottawa.

She graduated from Salem Hall School, Franklin County.

She was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church. She was active in the Royal Neighbors, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, Ottawa Senior Center, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Eagles Auxiliary.

She worked as a cook at the Ottawa school district and Polly's Drive-Inn. She worked as a baker for the Ideal Food Store, Garden City. She also worked at the care center in Burlington and at Pence's IGA, Ottawa.

She married George Thomas Setters July 17, 1926. They shared more than 58 years of marriage. He preceded her in death Dec. 15, 1984.

Survivors include sons, Tommy Setters, and his wife, Dee, Ottawa, and John Setters, and his wife, Rena, Snellville, Ga.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

She also was preceded in death by sons, Leo and Lewis Setters; a daughter, Charmaine Setters; brothers, John and Frank Christie; sisters, Alma West, Anna Bell and Corrine Cranor; and a grandson, Teddy Setters.

Burial will be at the Hope Cemetery, Ottawa.
