Gerald Edward Belue, 82, of Rogersville passed away on July 21, 2020. He was born on February 22, 1938 at his home in Rogersville. He was a member and Elder of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Rogersville, and retired from Reynolds Metals after 38 years of service. He considered his ministry working outdoors; gardening and doing yard work, and helping others keep their yards beautiful, being a supportive grandfather, Alabama football and LCHS basketball. He was a member of the Rogersville Water Works and Sewer Board for about 20 years. He went on numerous mission trips with his church working in disaster relief. He volunteered as recreation leader for vacation bible school and a league coach for all of his sons. He enjoyed playing many sports up until his 80s, especially backyard basketball with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Peggy Belue; his children, Joey (Anne) Belue, Jeff (Edie) Belue, Jim (Tanua) Belue; his sister Shelby Jean Corum; grandchildren, Jennifer (Lucas) Williams, Justin (Shelby) Belue, Jordan (Andrew Stephens) Belue, Lexi (Taylor Cheatham) Carpenter, Asa Belue, Katie Belue, David Belue; great-grandchildren, Jaylee and Landon Williams.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Susan Belue, and brother James Hollis Belue.
A private graveside service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Civitan Cemetery in Rogersville with Bro. Pat Driscoll officiating and grandsons serving as pallbears. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Rogersville in Gerald’s name.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 2nd floor of NAMC, Tommy McClusky, CRNP, Dr. Tracy Pool, Dr. Brian Cole, and church family for all their love, prayers, and support.
