William Parsons, son of Mary Richards Parsons and Ivor Parsons, was born March 17, 1919 in Newport Mon, South Wales. As a child of four, William came to Sioux Falls. William spent his childhood in Sioux Falls and March 17, 1942 he entered the Army. While in the service William married Lucille Reiter in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma October 6, 1944. After his discharge as a Staff Sergeant, the couple moved back to Sioux Falls in 1945. William had been employed by John Morrell Co. for 44 years, latter years as a Supervisor.

William belonged to St. Therese Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and was very active in the YMCA and coaching girls softball for many years.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Lucille; 3 sons, Larry of Chancellor, S.D., Bill Jr., Rapid City, S.D., and Doug of Minneapolis, Mn.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Lon (Sandy) Louri and Kristie Parsons both of Sioux Falls; 3 grandchildren, Steve, Danny and Tracey; his father, Ivor of Sioux Falls; 2 brothers, Terrance of Sioux Falls and Ivor Jr. of Tenn.

William was preceded in death by is mother, Mary.

Friends and relatives are invited to gather at the Church following the committal service for refreshments and fellowship.
