Alvin E. Scott, 71, of 1527 Wilhurst St., retired contact representative with the U.S. Veterans Administration, died of respiratory failure Sunday at River Oaks Hospital. Service are 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home with burial in Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation at 4-8 p.m. today.
Mr. Scott was an Aberdeen native. He had lived in Jackson 45 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Fishers of Men Sunday school class and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a graduate of Mississippi College. He was a World War II Air Force veteran.
Survivors include: wife, Sadie Ruth; and sister, Margaret Tackett of Aberdeen.
