A. V. Ferguson services held at New Bethel

A. V. Ferguson, native of Carroll County, died at his residence near Winona April 18. Funeral services were held at New Bethel Church Thursday, April 20, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. W. M. Hull, Rev. John Green and Rev. Melvin Corley officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery with Lee Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Ferguson was born October 31, 1880 and married the former Martha Elizabeth Corder, who survives, November 27, 1907. He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church.

Besides his wife he leaves one daughter, Mrs. Leighton Parker, and one son, J. V. Ferguson, both of Winona; six sisters, Mrs. Judson Michie, Mrs. Monnie Slawson, Mrs. Benena Jacobs, Mrs. Max Reeves, Mrs. Bud McCalop and Mrs. Neal Browning, and two brothers, Eugene and Turner Ferguson, all of Carrollton.

Pallbearers were P. G. Beck, David Dotson, Tommy Herod, M. E. Daves, Kenneth King and Luther Lamb.
