Sebastian DeDio immigrated to the U.S. from Sicily under the surname name of Di Dia. Di Dia is the common surname in Sicily. He was also known as Sebastiono Not sure why the surname changed. Mr. Di Dia / De Dio, was 23 years old when he departed from Palermo on June 7th 1906 on the SS. Calabria, and arrived at Ellis Island on June 22nd 1906. On the log he state his birth place was Marsala, Sicily. This is also stated in his U.S. Naturalization record. Also he stated that he was going to reside with his cousin Montaleto G. Bastista @ 426 North St., in Beloit, Wisconsin. Not sure when he made the move to Chicago, Ill area. He married his first and only wife Catherine Pizzo December 7th 1914 in Chicago, Illinois, and had a total of 7 children with Ms. Pizzo.
