Virginia Pearl (Allison) Attaway

Virginia Pearl Allison Attaway, 91, beloved wife of 71 years to the late Geddies Attaway, went into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

Born in Hendersonville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Ollie and Bertie Moore Allison.

Virginia married the love of her life, G. L. in the Spring of 1947, from there they went on to start their family. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and was a member of Monaghan Baptist Church. She was the most loving daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She never met a stranger and was known for her hugs.

She is survived by her two amazing children, Patricia "Pat" Maw and husband, Bobby, of Greenville, Robert "Bob" Attaway, and wife, Beverly of Simpsonville; seven precious grandchildren, Amy Bunce and her husband, Steven, Jamie Hendrix and his wife, Kim, Becky Hyman and her husband, Alex, Greg Ramey and his wife, Kim, Jennifer Boone and her husband, Bryan, Josh Ramey and his wife, Donna, Courtney Melba and her husband, Scott; nine adoring great grandchildren, Colton Bowman, Canaan Hendrix, Phillip and Ally Hyman, Trenton, Sydney, Kelsey and Brooklyn Ramey, and William Ramey; two sisters, Nellie Bennett and Joyce Luchard and husband, Wilbur.

Friends are welcome to visit Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, from 1:00 pm until 5:30 pm for viewing and to leave notes of condolence for her family. Due to the public guidelines for social distancing, there will be no public visitation period for her family to receive friends. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020, at 1:00 pm at Monaghan Baptist Church. Seating is limited and everyone is asked to follow the guidelines for social distancing and to wear a mask. Burial will follow in Greenville Memeorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Virginia's memory to Monaghan Baptist Church, 1500 West Parker Road, Greenville, SC, 29617.
