Miss Mary Simon Dead
Illness of Twenty-Five Years Ended; Dropsy Cause of Death;

After illness from dropsy, which lasted for the past twenty-five years and increased in its seriousness during more recent years, Miss Mary C. Simon, aged 54, died at the home of her brother, Kilian Simon, on North Church Street yesterday morning at 7 o’clock. Miss Simon had been an invalid almost half of her life.

As a girl 14 years of age, Miss Simon came with her brothers and sisters to Door County from West Bend, Wisconsin to live in the town of Nasewaupee. After only four years on the farm, she moved into this city and has lived here ever since. Her parents were dead before she left the home of her birth. Miss Simon has been active in the St. Joseph’s Church and was a member of the Young Ladies’ Sodality.

Surviving from a family of fourteen children are her two brothers, Mr. Kilian Simon and Mr. P.J. Simon and her two sisters, Clara Simon and Mrs. John Beyer.

The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock from the St. Joseph’s church.
