Irene Hazel Geurin Adcock was born on September 11, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her father, Carl Geurin, was 29, and her mother, Rowena Hazel Fallwell Geurin, was 23. She married Tommy Lee Erwin on July 3, 1967 when she was 18 years old. They had one son together, Todd Lee Erwin who was born on July 8, 1971. Irene and Tommy were soon divorced and she then married Waylan Millard "Butch" Vanschuyver. Irene later married Lester Shane Adcock on July 2, 1983, when she was 34 years old. Todd Erwin was her only child.
Irene passed away in her home in Del City, Oklahoma on July 29, 2020 at the age of 71. She is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is having a glorious reunion with her parents and family in Heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Rowena Geurin; a sister, Pamela Sue Geurin who was stillborn in 1956; her paternal grandparents, James Thomas "Tom" and Nancy Ellen (Green) Geurin; and her maternal grandparents, Cecil E.C. and Hazel (Sims) Fallwell.
She is survived by her husband, Shane, of the home and by her son, Todd Erwin of Del City, Oklahoma; two sisters: Carleen Rowena McIntire of Garland, Texas, and Viola Mae Carpenter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Daniel Carl Geurin and his wife Julia of Enid, Oklahoma; three maternal aunts: Betty Ruth Bennett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Mary Ellen Henderson and husband Kenneth of Eufaula, Oklahoma; and Retha Lavonne Hendrix of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends. Irene will be greatly missed here on this earth, but we all have the hope and knowledge of joining her in Heaven someday.
