John Marion "Sammy" Camp, Jr., age 81, of Maumelle went to be with his Lord, Thursday, August 30, 2007. He was born on August 25, 1926 in Shelby, North Carolina, a son of the late John M. Camp and Edna Alberta Shields Camp. He was a sales manager. He attended Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene and truly loved his Lord and studying the Bible. He was a Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-seven years, Barbara M. Camp; four brothers, Edwin, Jerry, Nathan and Billy Camp; four sisters, Anna Martin, Savannah Phillips, Mary Grason, and Ruth Melton.

He is survived by son, John D. Camp and his wife Sandy, a daughter, Nancy Scroggins and her husband, Randy, sons, Mark Camp and his wife Patty, Weldon Gregory and his wife Tammy, and Al Gregory and his wife Kay; nine grandchildren, three sisters, Jane Bridges, LaVonda "Polly" Bridges, and Brendan LaGrand; three brothers, Tom, Charles and Robert Camp; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene with Brother Paul Holderfield officiating. Interment will be in Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle. Military honors will be by the United States Navy.

Open viewing will be Sunday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
