American fashion writer. Worthington worked for Women's Wear Daily, Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Harper's Bazaar, and New York Times. She was also co-author of several books on fashion. Worthington graduated from Hingham High School in 1973 and proceeded to graduate with honors from Vassar College in 1977. She formerly dated Stan Stokowski, the oldest son of Gloria Vanderbilt and Leopold Stokowski. Worthington wrote an article in Harper's Magazine on her choice to become a single mother. Surviving are her loving father, Christopher "Toppy" H. Worthington of Weymouth and her precious daughter, Ava Gloria Worthington. Worthington was murdered in her home on Cape Cod. In 2005, the local garbage collector was arrested and charged with her rape and murder. He was found guilty and sentenced to life without parole.
