Walter L. Smith, 68, of 1895 W. Rialto Ave., San Bernardino, died Thursday i n Redlands. He was born in Iowa and was a 25-year resident of San Bernardino and a 35-year resident of California.
Smith was a retired salesman. He was last employed at Montgomery Ward and Co. Survivors include his widow, Blanche; three daughters, Verla E. Hovarter of San Bernardino, Nada Webb of Loma Linda and Lillian F. Pritchard of Garden Grove; a brother, Myron J. Smith of Roseville; two sisters, Bernice Shinn and Fern Allen, both of Idaho; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Rialto Park Cemetery with Mark B. Shaw Memorial Chapel directing. Friends may call at the chapel after 7 p.m. today.
