Mike was a friend and a colleague whom I have known for years. He held a roster at the Howick Ambulance Station, Auckland NZ for a few years and had an authority to practice as a paramedic. He had a love of animals so moved to the rural suburb of Karaka, South Auckland with his wife Hayley. This was Mike's second marriage. His first marriage produced two wonderful children Sammy and Matt. Although divorced from his first wife they were still very close and they had regular contact. While at Howick station Mike was involved in a motorcycle accident after a nightshift. He fell asleep while riding and hit a parked truck. It was in hospital, while being treated for his injuries, that they found he had prostate cancer. He was in remission for a few years but the cancer came back with a vengeance and metastasized. Mike lived every day to the fullest up until the day he died. Three days before he died he went sky diving and bungy jumping and the day before he died he went to the pub with his friends from his motorcycle club. How he loved his motorcycle. Mike you fought a brave fight and your belief in God helped you get through this ordeal with your head held high. We will meet again buddy, rest in the arms of God and know you made a difference in this world. MY FRIEND........
