BERNARD G. NATE

Bernard G. Nate, 78, of West Bend, died Friday, Aug. 11, at his home.

He was born Feb. 7, 1917, in the Town of Franklin, son of Georg B. and Mary B. Savage Nate. On Sept. 11, 1948, he married Norma Rosenbaum in Maple Grove.

He served in the U. S. Army in the European Theater from Jan. 27, 1943, until Dec. 18, 1945. After his discharge, he worked at the White House Milk Co. in Manitowoc until coming to West Bend in 1955. He was employed as a plumber for the Ross Engineering Co. in West Bend until his retirement.

He was a member of the Lt. Ra Dickop Post 3 of the American Legion, the Fred A. Schaefer Post 1393 V.F.W. and Local 75 of the Plumbers Union.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Gayle Powell of West Bend; one sister, Kay Hallfrisch and her husband Wally of Manitowoc; one sister-in-law, Rosena Rosenbaum of Fond du Lac; one brother-in-law, Christ Kober of Kewaskum; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary, and three brothers, Norbert, Howard and Wilbert.

Services: Will be held Tuesday at 1 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend, with burial following at Union Cemetery, Campbellsport.

Visitation: At the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the services.
