Age 76. of Ogallala, died at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte. Daughter of Farnam to Emil and Judith Isaacson Johnson. She married Henry Sass on Sept. 3, 1960. The couple resided on the farm northwest of Ogallala until 1980, when they retired from farming and moved into Ogallala to make their home. Mrs. Sass was a member of the VFW. Auxiliary and was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Gary) Cross and Vickie Malone, both of Ogallala; two sons, Kendall Banta of Denver and Tom (Rhonda) Banta of Lincoln; four sisters, Rhoda (Don) Seay of Ault, Colo., Aliene (Harlan) Stewart of LaCanada, Calif., Adelay (Harry) Bassler of Tehachapi, Calif. and her twin, Dorothy Vlasin of Imperial; three brothers, Ardell (Jean) Johnson of Ogallala, Donald (Karen) Johnson of Chadron and Forrest (Jewel) Johnson of Farnam; 10 grandchildren, Amy (Steve) Schilz of Brule, Kelli Cross of North Platte, Kristin Cross of Lincoln, Jeremy, Troy, Megan and Jamie Malone of Ogallala, Faustina (Rob) Steinman of Lincoln, Vanessa and Fields Banta of Lincoln; three great grandchildren, Ethan Ryan Schilz of Brule, Aaron and Avery Steinman of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; a son, Gerald; two sisters and two brothers.
