Loyed W. Prall
Services for Loyed W. Prall, 67, Rapid City, will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First Congregational Church with the Revs. Sam Cushing and Arthur Taylor officiating.
A second service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Crosby-Kunold-Burkey Chapel in Omaha, Neb. Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery.
Arrangements are under direction of Osheim-Catron Funeral Home. A memorial has been established. Visitation will be at the funeral home until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday.
He died early Wednesday at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
He was born Jan. 23, 1915, at Carlisle, Iowa, the son of Fred and Evelyn Prall. He grew up and graduated from high school in Carlisle. He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps. He also was employed as a government employee at Fort Des Moines, before serving with the U.S. Army in World War II. Following military service, he was a budget analyst for the U.S. Civil Service, Strategic Air Command. He lived in Omaha for several years before retiring and moving to Rapid City in 1970.
He married Josephine Cannella May 16, 1964 at Omaha.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Bee Hive 184 AF & AM of Omaha, Shrine Club, Naja Temple of Deadwood, and First Congregational Church.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine of Rapid City; two sisters, Ada Moon of Nevada City, Calif., and Mildred Liddell of Chariton, Iowa; five brothers, Robert Prall of Park Rapids, Minn., Wilson Prall of Brigham City, Utah, Kail and Elmer Prall of Carlisle, Iowa, and Wayne Prall of Tucson, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
