Charles Louis Kuehn

On Monday August 3, 2020 Charles Louis Kuehn of Houston passed away at the age of 84. Charlie, as he was affectionately known to all his friends, was born February 20, 1936 in Houston.
Charlie was a native Houstonian and a graduate of St. Thomas High School, alumni and member of the St. Thomas Good ‘Ol Boys group. As well as a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He loved studying Texas history, and family road trips often involved visits to the historic Texas sites about which he read. And when he wasn’t catching up on his history, he was enjoying his other passion of salt-water fishing.
After high school he started 7K Bus Company and for several decades provided transportation services for many of Houston’s public and private schools and special events. Even while running his bus company, he remained true to his rural upbringing by having a small herd of cattle at one time alongside his buses at a spot on Buffalo Speedway, behind St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, in the heart of Houston. In later years, he would then turn his attention to raising cattle on his ranch in Milam County on an idyllic spot along the Brazos River.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Edwin Fred Kuehn and Dorothy Irene Boroski Kuehn, as well as his son Charles (Chuck) Louis Kuehn, Jr.
He is survived by his beloved Barbara Citro and her sons Brian Citro of Houston and Edward Citro and his wife Nicole of Austin. His children Cynthia Kuehn Robinson of Houston, Bess Roberts Bright of Houston and Catherine Kuehn-Fazzino and her husband Charles of Hearne, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren Sarah Kuehn Spencer and her husband Cole of Atlanta, Malcolm Robinson of Houston, Alex Martinez of Houston, Kaylin and Josh Ibarra of Houston, John Coleman Fazzino of Hearne, Abigail Citro, Sophia Citro and Bryce Citro all of Houston and Davis and Landon Citro of Austin; and three great grandchildren, AJ and Mason Robinson and Owen Ibarra.
