On the evening of August 5, 2020, Larry C Snyder of Hermitage, passed away.

He is at peace now and reunited with family and friends who he missed so much. Larry was a man of many words, deep convictions and strong will. He fought to make the world a better place, where truth and justice mattered. Larry never backed down from a good argument or debate and stood his ground to the end. His quick wit, charm and endearing smile could light up a room. Larry will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Larry was born in Kittanning, PA on August 15, 1946, to Wayne C and Violet Ball Snyder. He grew up in the sleepy little town of Templeton, PA., where his passion was playing baseball. He lettered in school. Larry was a graduate of Dayton High School and the Pennsylvania State Police Academy.

Larry served in the Army, 24th Infantry Division, Military Police. He was stationed in Augsburg, Germany for 3 years where he served as General’s Escort Guard. He joined the Pennsylvania State Police in 1970, serving for 22 years as a Trooper, working both traffic and Vice.

Larry married Marsha R. Yoho in May of 1972......They had 2 beautiful sons, Larry A and Shawn C, whom they treasured. Marsha died in November of 1986.

Larry married Sue E Hooks on July 11, 1988. Together they raised their boys.
Many beautiful memories involve trips to amusement parks, the ocean and the mountains and attending so many beautiful concerts. DooWop was the favorite. Music was a very important part of Larry’s life. He loved the great outdoors and shooting things with a camera, not a gun.

Three years ago, Larry was reunited with his son, Michael in Augsburg, Germany. This made our family complete. Michael Lechner is married to Corinna Klimke and has 3 children, Nathan, Emily and Patrick. A son, Julian is deceased.

Larry was a lifetime member of Kittanning Elks Lodge 203, a member of Brady Paul Mem Lodge #054, Retired State Police Association of PA, American Legion Post 0299 in Sharon and VFW Post 6166 in Hermitage.

Larry was predeceased by his first wife, Marsha Yoho and his parents, Wayne and Violet Snyder, and grandson Julian. Larry is survived by his wife Sue, and his sons, Shawn C of Cranberry, Larry A of Hermitage and Michael T of Augsburg, Germany, his daughter-in-law Corinna and three grandchildren, Nathan, Emily and Patrick, and great-granddaughter, Marie.
