Death of Mrs. Emma Thayer

Chesterfield March 3 – Mrs. Emma Thayer, 85, widow of Fred Thayer, died Sunday morning after a short illness, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Macomber, of this town. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 o'clock at the First Congregational Church, of which Mrs. Thayer was a member, Rev. John A. Hawley, the pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Center cemetery. Mrs. Thayer has been a lifelong resident of Chesterfield, was a member of the local Grange for a number of years and was active in the Ladies' Benevolent society. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ellen Bryant of Amherst and Mrs. Macomber, and a granddaughter, Ruth Neidinger of Westfield.
