Doris grew up in Marseilles and was a graduate of Marseilles High School in 1973. She worked and lived in many different places across the U.S. and Germany. The last several years she worked as a home health aide in Arizona. She often mentioned how lucky she was to have met so many wonderful people in her lifetime and held them dear in her heart. In the end, she was looking forward to walking with the Lord and to see all her family that went before her. Per her request, there will be no services. Cremation was handled by Thompson Funeral Home in Avondale, AZ. Doris will remain forever in our prayers and dearly missed.
Survivors are husband, Cory Sylvester; daughter, Gina (Kesner) Benedict; grandaughter, Charlotte Benedict of Litchfield Park, AZ; brothers, Mike (Cheryl) Scarber of Shell Knob, MO; Ed (Gina) Scarber of Ottawa, IL; Tom (Jana) Scarber of Paducah, KY; Kurt (Nyckkie) Boaz of Marseilles, IL; sister, LaDonna (Scarber) (David) Andrew of Lebanon, IL; many neices and nephews and her beloved pitbull, Bo, who never left her side throughout her illness.
