Miss Emma Alter died Tuesday at the home of J. J. Dean, on Pittsburg Street. Miss Alter was a cousin of the Dean brothers, of this city. She had been a sufferer from that dread disease consumption, for two years. Friends leave today with the remains for Ft. Madison, Iowa.
Miss Alter was in the great train wreck on the Chicago & Alton railroad a few years ago and was quite seriously injured. Her mother was killed in the wreck. Miss Alter never fully recovered from her injuries.
