Betty Joanne Myers, age 75, of 815 S. 1st Ave, died at 11:26 AM Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the Graham Hospital Emergency Room.

She was born May 11, 1931 in Fulton County, Illinois to John and Emma Ione (Ewing) Lynch.

She married Marion Karl Thomas. She later married Russell F. Robbins. Her last marriage was to Glenn Ray Myers in 1971. Glenn preceded her in death February 19, 2002.

Joanne and Glenn loved traveling around the country in their RV. You might get a letter postmarked in Florida one week and Texas a few weeks later. They camped and fished and enjoyed their retirement.

Joanne was a wonderful cook and loved sharing her recipes with everyone in the family.

Her favorite movie was Coal Miner's Daughter, starring Sissy Spacek as Loretta Lynn. The first time I watched the movie was with Joanne, Glenn and Jim in their fifth wheel when they were here visiting us.

Joanne is survived by three children, Diane Burhans, Connie Rogers and John Robbins, all of Canton, Illinois. Also surviving are three step children, James (Sheryl) Myers of Galesburg, Illinois, Janice Myers of Ohio, Judy Eddie of Canton, Illinois, two nephews, Jeff and Brad Havens and one sister, Sherrill (Larry) Havens of Lewistown, Illinois. Also mourning her passing, Joanne has ten grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. There are even a few great great grandchildren.

Also surviving is her special friend John McNeil.

Joanne was preceded in death by one son Charles Stephen Thomas and one grandson, Steven Paul 'Buddy' Thomas.

She worked at Graham Hospital, several local restaurants and lastly worked at the Tempo store and Lidwell Jewelers.

She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Women of the Moose in Canton, Illinois and later a member of the Pekin Moose Lodge.

Visitation was from 1PM - 3PM Saturday at the Oak-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, Illinois. There was no funeral service. Cremation rites were accorded and internment of ashes will take place at a later date.
