Obituary from the Great Bend [KS] Tribune, Sunday, 14 Sep 1997, p. 3A col 2-3--Cecelia I. Parks--Holyrood--Cecelia I. Parks, 69, died Sept. 12, 1997, at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. She was born July 2, 1928, at Gove, the daughter of Iver B. and Inez M. Luckcuck Tokoi. A Holyrood resident for 14 years, moving from Montezuma, she was a homemaker and taught school for several years in Lane and Ness counties. She also served as secretary for the Pawnee County Extension Office in Larned for six years. She married Kenneth W. Parks Aug. 11, 1956, at Hays.
Mrs.Pparks was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holyrood and the American Legion Auxiliary in Montezuma, and was past matron of Order of Eastern Star Holyrood Chapter No. 420 and past matron of OES Star Light Chapter No. 87 in Ness City.
Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Michael Parks of Estes Park,Colo., one daughter, Major Carol J. Parks of Lansing; two sisters, Ione Oldham of Hays and Myrna Walters of Alexander City, Ala.; two brothers, Milton Tokoi of St. Francis, and Hilton Tokoi of Leoti; and six grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Bharat Surender officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call until 9 tonight at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington and 11 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the church, Multiple Sclerosis Society or to Clar Barton Hospital, all in care of the funeral home.
