The funeral of Charles Leslie "Slim" Gregory, 83, of 202 W Locust St, Bloomington, will be at 1 pm Tuesday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington.
The Rev Fred Belcher will officiate. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Mr Gregory died at 4:30 pm Friday (June 5, 1992) at St Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
He was born June 22, 1908, in DeWitt County, the son of Oscar and Lillie Westpahl [sic] Gregory. He married Burnett Parsons June 21, 1930, in Mansfield. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Ronald L, Springfield; three daughters, Darlene Landstrom, Lady Lake, Fla; Charlotte Robertson, Belvidere; and Barbara Johnson, RR 4, Bloomington; one brother, Tom Gregory, Wood Hill Towers, Bloomington; one sister, Wynona Razor, 700 E Walnut St, Bloomington; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Eight brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Louis E Davis American Legion Post, was past commander and sergeant-at-arms for a number of years. He was also McLean County commander of the American Legion.
Mr Gregory worked in the maintenance department at the Eureka Company for 36 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of Machinists Local 1000.
