s/o John F. Morris & Rebecca Ashcom. He married Margaret E. Magel, d/o Antone Magel & Anna Kraus of Mankato, MN, Dec. 16, 1881 in St. Paul, MN.

They moved to Livingston, MT in 1889 and Malta, MT in 1907, where he moved around cooking for the ranches in the area. He and his brother, Charley, worked as hotel cooks during the gold rush in Zortman, MT. Because of hard times, in 1919 they were back in Minneapolis.

Morris - Ruben B., aged 72, a prominent Montana rancher, died at Minneapolis April 15. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite (sic) [Margaret], one son, R. Blaine Morris, and three daughters, Mrs. H.C. [Esther] Goms and Mrs. [Cora] Reichel of Minneapolis, and Mrs. A.J. [Anna] Brodrick of Havre, Mont. Services will be held at Gleason's chapel, 111 9th St. S. at 2 p.m. Saturday. Interment will be at Crystal Lake cemetery.

Note: He was later moved to Sunset Memorial Park.
