He was found by a son, Elwood, and a grandson. Mr. North had been in ill health, and death was due to natural causes, officials said.
He was born in Athens County, the son of Horace and Susie North. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America, Local 2971.
Surviving are his son, Elwood of Millfield; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Rosie Rutter, Glouster; and a half brother, Harvey North, Rose Farm. His wife, Maude, preceded his in death.
Services will be conducted Friday, 1 p.m., at the Millfield Methodist Church with the Rev. Ernest Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield. Friends may call at the Norbert W. Johnston funeral home at anytime.
