Dr. Lee Price Calfee, 79, Washington chiropractor for 40 years, died Sunday at his home, 2005 Commonwealth Avenue, Alexandria, Va. An Alexandria resident for a year, he formerly lived in Chevy Chase for 18 years. Dr. Calfee was born in Pulaski, Va., and was educated at Virginia Millitary Institute and Richmond College of Medicine. He was a great-nephew of Confederate Army General Sterling Price. Dr. Calfee was a member of the Sons of the Confederacy, the First Families of Virginia, the Montgomery County Historical Society, Mount Pleasant Masonic Lodge, Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church, Greater Capitol Chiropractor Society, National Chiropractor Society and the Maryland Chiropractor Society. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Marie Strobel Calfee; a son, William H. Calfee, Dorset, Vt.; a sister, Mrs. Bernard Waite, Coral Gables, Fla.; his step-mother, Mrs. Berkley Calfee, Culpepper, Va., and three grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Demaine's Funeral Home, Alexandria. Burial will be Thursday in Pulaski.

Lee was the son of Monroe Howard Calfee and Alice Price. He married Carrie Lavinia Whitebread and Bertha Marie Strobel.
