Magdaline was born May 29, 1924 in Meire Grove, MN, to Frank and Amelia (Klingler) Anton. She was raised in Van Hook. In her younger years, she worked for Dr. and Mrs. Emil Mahowald of Parshall.
On January 10, 1950, she was united in marriage to Anthony “Tony” Giesen. They made their home in Makoti, where they raised their five children: Patricia Eisenzimmer, Rosanne Gray (Brian), Lois Kaseman (Dwight), Wayne Giesen (DelRay), and Donna Wheeling (Ron). She has nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Magdaline liked working in her yard which she did until she was 88. She gardened, canned, and baked the best chocolate chip cookies. The grandkids never left without a bag full.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anthony in 2000; 17 siblings; and son-in-law, Gene Eisenzimmer. She was the last member of the Frank Anton family.
She entered Lakeside Assisted Living in New Town in September of 2012, Centennial Independent Living of Stanley in 2014, and Benedictine Living Center of Garrison in 2020. Blessed be her memory among us.
