Frances was the daughter of Benjamin and Lieutitia Frances (Black) Anderson. She was the sister of Elizabeth Anderson (died young), Sarah Louise (Anderson) (m. Sidney Edward McConkey), Aaron T. Anderson, John Young Anderson (m. Kate Reed).
She became the second wife of Israel Prince Norris on June 16, 1877 in Salina, Kansas.
Their children were; Myrtle Norris, Israel P. Norris Jr. (m. Maude L. Schull), Mildred M. Norris, Mabel Norris, William Tecumseh Sherman Norris (m. Lela Montague) and Willmenia "Minnie" Frances (Norris)(m. Albert Buffum). William and Willmenia were twins.
