Susan Beverage Evans, 61, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. EST Sunday at Bevis Funeral Home (850-385-2193). Family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any Hurricane Katrina relief fund or animal welfare organization.
Susan was a native of Clarksburg, W.Va., and moved to Tallahassee in 1970. She retired from the executive office of the governor as a government analyst. She also had worked for the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Services and the Leon County Juvenile Court. She had served on several social-service advisory boards.
Survivors include her long time companion, Dwight Hood of Tallahassee, and three cousins, Kristina Holt of Boca Raton, Steve Springston of Rock Island, Tenn., and Julie Phillips of Battle Ground, Wash.
