She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Bacon and her sister Margaret Nezlo.

Ann graduated from Bloomsburg State Teachers College in 1939 with a degree in elementary education and began her forty one year career as a school teacher in a one room school house in the rural mountains of Pennsylvania.

She married her husband Edward in 1945 and they were blessed to welcome their daughter, Barbara, in 1949. After her husband's death in 1961, she continued teaching until her retirement from the Fairfax County, Virginia, school system in 1980 as a single mother.

As a founding member of Sunset Hills Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia, she was very involved with several committees, Sunday school, and was a member of the church choir. She volunteered many years at the Alexandria Hospital and also loved tutoring elementary aged students during her retirement years.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara and son-in-law Nicholas O'Dawe, grandsons Colin (Miccah), Ryan, and Patrick (Jessica), and her beloved great-grandchildren Nolan, Luke, Langston, and Sarah-Ann and many nieces and nephews.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed all types of music, and loved her family dearly.
