Alvin Allen "Al" Floss passed away on September 7, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 1, 1927 in Miami, Arizona to Fritz C. Floss and Lena Mae Doyle Gloss, who preceded him in death. Al attended Miami High School and the University of Arizona (Delta Chi Fraternity). He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1946 and retired as a Lab Supervisor from Garrett Engine Co. (Signal-Honeywell), Dec. 1951-1987. He is survived by his wife Maurine "Mo" and many cousins, nieces, and nephews in Oregon and Utah. Al loved to hunt and fish. The past 29 years he was an avid Trap Shooter. He participated in shoots held all over the country. He was an "All American" "Sr. Vet." for 3 years. Donations in Al's memory may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014 or American Cancer Society, 2929 E. Thomas Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85016. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
