Susan Lynn Bailey , 43, was found dead July 5, 1999, in Anchorage. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dave Beckett officiating. A private burial service was held at Angelus Memorial Park.
Born Feb. 26, 1956, in Monroe, Wash., she came to Alaska in 1963. She was a 1974 graduate of Lathrop High School in Fairbanks. She had attended Pitzer College in Claremont, Calif., Alaska Methodist University Anchorage and the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She resided in Fairbanks from 1963 to 1974 and again from 1977 to 1989. She resided in Anchorage from 1974 to 1977 and from 1989 until her death. She had worked for Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. in Anchorage from 1976 to 1977 and the Department of Natural Resources from 1977 to 1989 in Fairbanks and, most recently, since 1990 in Anchorage. She had been a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Her family wrote: '' Susan enjoyed reading, cross stitching, bicycling, camping and her children.''
She is survived by her husband, Michael D. Bailey ; parents, George and Mary Lou Hollett; her three children, Mychaela, Mackenzie and Monroe; her parents, George and Mary Lou Hollett; brothers and sisters-in-law, Todd and Kathy Hollett and Cort and Karla Hollett of Canton, Ohio, and Shon Hollett of New York City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to a fund for the Children of Susan Bailey , Account 0110067139, Northrim Bank, P.O. Box 241489, Anchorage 99524-9981. Arrangements were by Kehl's Forest Lawn Mortuary and Crematory.
