Charles was the son of Achille Lucien Archambault, founder of the Kensington Iron Works in Philadelphia. His paternal grandfather, Joseph Oliver Victor Senez Archambault, of France, was an aide-de-camp of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte at the Battle of Waterloo and was for many years the last survivor of the emperor's staff at St. Helena.
Charles was survived by his wife, Julia V. Archambault, two sons, Charles Victor Archambault, Jr., and Thomas Julian Archambault, and two daughters, Mrs. S. B. Parrott and Mrs. G. P. Border, of Memphis, Tennessee. He was also survived by a sister, A. Margaretta Archambault, of Philadelphia.
