SULPHUR SPRINGS, Ind.--Former Sulphur Springs resident Violet M. Stohler, 86, Vinton, Va., died Friday in Berkshire Nursing Center.
Mrs. Stohler, who was born in Henry County, moved to Vinton, Va., in 1986. She lived in Sulphur Springs for 50 years and attended Sulphur Springs Schools. She had been a member of Sulphur Springs Church of Christ since 1942 and was a member of Ladies Aid Society of the Sulphur Springs of Christ.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Stohler, Kokomo, Ermil Stohler, Naples, Fla., and David Stohler, Pulaski, Va.; a daughter, Verlena White, St. Cloud, Fla.; a sister, Delana Bailey, Anderson; 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Ralph Stohler, died in 1992. Five brothers, Robert, James, Charles, George and Clifford Abshire, also are deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sulphur Springs Church of Christ, with Rev. James Behrendt officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Middletown. Calling will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, Middletown.
