Frances Yvonne Henry was born September 22, 1936 and passed away June 30, 2019. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan but moved to Houston, Texas as a young teenager to live with her grandmother, Nora McCormick, whom she admired and spoke of often. Fran married the love of her life, Paul Henry, in 1961, and they were happily married for 48 years. The Henrys embraced her into their family and she truly loved them as her own. As a young girl, Fran learned to play the trumpet and piano. Her children and grandchildren could sometimes find her playing classical music on the piano. As an adult, she was part of a bowling league, and her team was good enough to be invited to travel and compete around the country. Fran was a sweet lady, had a good sense of humor, and loved her family dearly. She is survived by her children: son Kevin Henry and wife Diana, daughter Melissa Ellington and husband Steve, and son Dale Becker, sisters: Mary Ann and Camille, brothers-in-law: Larry Henry and wife Joyce, and Charlie Robbins, grandchildren: Jennifer and Amber Henry, Kristi Ellington McCullough, Kathy Ellington McNeese, Christopher and Jennifer Becker, and Mallory Becker Fix, and great grandchildren: Breann McNeese Cryer, Jasper McNeese, Fenley and Chesney McCullough, Henry Becker, and Everett and Hadley Fix. Numerous other family and friends also survive. Preceded in death by parents: Hugh McCormick and Lavaughn Johns McCormick, grandmothers: Lillie Johns and Nora McCormick, and husband Paul Henry.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 244 County Road 4705, Troup, TX 75789. A graveside service will immediately follow at Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
