A BIRD GIVES THE MESSAGE BACK TO THE WORLD, AND SINGS A SILENT PRAYER THAT MAKES THE RAIN CRY.

PEOPLE DISAPPEAR, BUT THEY NEVER REALLY GO AWAY.

THE SPIRITS UP THERE PUT THE SUN TO BED

WAKE UP THE GRASS, AND SPIN THE EARTH IN DIZZY CIRCLES.

SOMETIMES YOU CAN SEE THEM DANCING IN A CLOUD DURING THE DAY-TIME, WHEN THERY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE SLEEPING.

THEY PAINT THE RAINBOWS AND ALSO THE SUNSETS AND MAKE WAVES SPLASH AND TUG AT THE TIDE.

THEY TOSS SHOOTING STARTS AND LISTEN TO WISHES.

AND WHEN THEY SING WINDSONGS, THEY WHISPER TO US,

"DON'T MISS ME TOO MUCH. THE VIEW IS NICE, AND I'M DOING JUST FINE"

Kelli was killed when she was 18. Adults passes out flyers at her high school that for $5.oo a head- kids could come and drink all they wanted. over 60 high school students did just that- sadly Kelli was one of them.

Kelli left with a good designated driver- but she drank so much at the "party" she refused to leave with her driver.
Kelli's designated driver found her another ride- but that girl just left her there and knew me, my phone number and knew i was the mom that would come and pick kids up in these circumstances.

Kelli rode home with two boys from her school. driver tommy byington and jason dye. 3 miles from our house- the car kelli was a passenger in- raced on impulse with another underage drunk driver that had also been at the "party" and was following them in his car.

i know my daughter begged for her life in that car- as she always had a strong feeling she would die exactly like this.

we even talked about it earlier that day.

the car kelli was in- went off the road and all 3 died on impact. the other underage drunk driver was allowed to "call a friend" as he was too drunk to drive his own car home. we will never know what exactly happened- but everyone that saw those tire marks knew something did not add up- and there was paint from each car on both vehicals. hmmm.

our state highway patrol does NOT carry a field breathalyzer- and this was the lame reason we were given why this boy was not charge with a even a dui. oh, and they couldnt charge him with a speeding ticket (70 in a 35) as "we have to see them speeding and drinking and driving to charge them with it."

we are still trying to figure out why the "adults" were never charged- as i even provided the 3 state agencies involved with the address after jason's father and i found it for them. how can a huge state investigators office not make one of those kids talk? maybe because they only interviewed 9 out of the over 60 that were there that night. i made one phone call and found out the address. then we provided pictures of my daughter in that house on that night- with bottles of alcohol lined up on a table in the backgroud. you would think that would be enough- but no, NO CHARGES. these 3 "adults" knew those four kids left their house that night and that 3 died- and do you know they had a "party" the very next saturday and continued to do so for 8 months until they moved!

so am i still a lil bitter? YES!!! we are well aware that our children participated in their owns deaths. people make bad choices-like our children did- and they all paid the ulimate price for theirs- we only wish others would have been responsible for their own actions that night!!! i understand the other driver that lived and was involved made the same bad choice that night- i'm not so mad at him as i am the "adults" and the "troopers" at the scene that night.

hopefully if your on this sight you understand everyone does their grief differently. i have many of the usual nice tribute sites for kelli- however i choose to now be pro-active in making changes to this state and try to not have another parent make a memorial site for their child.

please dont call any crash involving alcohol an "accident" alcohol+driving= never an accident!


i was funny and had the best laugh ever. i sponsored 3 children from africa each and every month and mailed out what was to be my last money order to them that day. i told my mom that day "mom, i think i'm going to die soon" of course she tried to get me to stay home- but hey- i was 18, what does she know lol- and i wasnt driving- so i convinced myself i was just being silly paranoid in thinking that. the lesson to learn- trust that lil voice within.

i have an older brother- michael who is in his last year of college and i am SO proud of him! and a lil brother l.b. (for lil bill) who got his sarcatic and funny nature from me!!! i have two wonderful step sisters, faith and aggie- and a great step dad- even though i didnt like to admit it! lol

i have an amazing grandmother- dr. white. and a really cool grandpa who is a musician and a teacher. my aunt jodi is a district attorney for san diego county- (too bad she doesnt work in SC!) and my uncle todd is a test pilot for the navy! i have a lot of family that i know miss me SO much.

THE PETITION WAS STARTED FOR ANOTHER LIL GIRL FROM MY AREA WHO WAS 5 MONTHS PREGNANT AT THE TIME OF HER CRASH- THE BABY IS FINE NOW- BUT ASHLYN SIMS WILL NEVER WALK AGAIN- HER LIFE AND HER CHILDS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. ONCE AGAIN BECAUSE OF OUR STATE NOT GIVING A BREATHALYZER TEST AT THE SCENE- THE UNDERAGE DRUNK DRIVER THAT CAUSED HER CRASH- WALKED AWAY WITHOUT A DUI. PLEASE SIGN AS ASHLYNS CRASH AND LACK OF DUI CHARGES ARE NOT UNIQUE TO THIS AREA. READ ALL THE COMMENTS AND YOU WILL SEE HOW ANGRY PEOPLE ARE WITH THIS STATE.




my mom and i had a typical mother/teen daughter relationship= "mom- i hate you for grounding me, but umm i love you so, can you please drive me and lindsey to the mall?" lol we fought a lot- she was really hard on me- but we always made up and we had a great day together that last day.

mommy- i am proud of you for how you are helping so many others on myspace.com- you are making a diffence!!! i look over your shoulder and read the tons of mail you get everyday from teens that are exactly like me. i like how you tell them about my movie "grave decisions" how i would come home crying after seeing those kind of movies at school about drunk driving- but then say to you- "dont worry mom- that will never happen to me" and now someone else is sitting at my seat at school- thinking the exact same thing.

dont let the people that try and dr. phil you- get you down. they havent lost a child- so try to remember all the great things you are doing to make sure that my life and my death matter in the world.
