Harry Garske was born September 6, 1887 and died February 28, 1920. Selma Pulst was born September 21, 1894. They both grew up in Bergen and Webster Townships. They were married April 14, 1916 in Devils Lake. They moved to Harding Township in the fall of 1919 after establishing a new building site three and a half times (miles) east of Garske and one fourth mile north. At that time this land was virgin sod. In February of 1920 Harry passed away during the flu epidemic. There were two children, Ethel age two and Harry Jr. age six weeks, who passed away at the age of six months. Selma continued to make her home on the farm that she had rented to Harry's brother, Hugo.
